This is my favorite club. It is also located in the squad called Rhîno (see cafes). They host concerts by experimental/improvisation musicians from all over the world. Often, the concerts are confusing and fascinating at the same time. I am really not an expert on this kind of music, but I always enjoyed it. Boulevard de la tour 12.
chat noir
This is a small bar with a stage in the basement. Mostly, regional know bands from Switzerland and France are playing there. They also host poetry slams and other events. Very small, but really nice. Rue Vautier 13.
l'usine
The usine became almost my second home during the time I lived there. The association PTR (Post Tenebras Rock in reference to the Geneva's respectively Calvin's reformist motto "post tenebras lux" - after darkness, light) and Le Kab are organizing concerts in the big fabric hall. A lot of postrock and indie bands are playing there. The program used to be excellent, but I have heard it got worse. There are still some good bands playing there though. Besides the concert hall, the usine also hosts a theater, a clubroom (Zoo), a bistrot (Moloko) a cinema (Spoutnik) and an exihibiton space (Espace Ford). Place des volontaires 4.
sud des alpes
This is definitely the best jazz club in Geneva where the AMR (Association pour l'encouragement de la musique improvisée) hosts concerts. Rue des Alpes 10.
