Ozumo
Japanese restaurant. Somewhat expensive, but amazing design and food. Still, cheaper than in Switzerland. 161 Steuart Street.
Chez Maman
Tiny, with room for only ten or so people, but incredibly good. It is more or less one long row bar, behind which your food is cooked as the waiters run to and fro to serve you crepes as well as burgers and fries (which are truly amazing), and making jokes at the same time. Very nice atmosphere. 1453 18th Street.
Kokkari Estiatorio
Greek food, quite fancy, but not too expensive and very good! A place to bring your parents. 200 Jackson Street.
Nick's Crispy Tacos
Cool, but cheap and very good with Salvation Army red sofas. 1500 Broadway.
Tricolore
Best sandwiches in town. Good Italian lunch restaurant. The owner is married to a Swiss. 590 Washington Street.
Jack Falstaff
Very fancy restaurant, owned by mayor Gavin Newsome. I didn't eat here, but the bar is nice. Fancy, a place for your parents to bring you. 598 Second Street.
21st Amendment
Stylish Brewery with American food. I didn't eat here either, only drank. 563 Second Street.
Taqueria
The best burritos that I had. Valencia & 18th.
Koh Samui & The Monkey
Thai restaurant, very stylish, very tasty. Really. 425 Brannan Street.
Fortune Star Cafe
The best dim sum in Chinatown. Really good. 930 Stockton Street.
Osha
Stylish and very good Thai restaurant. Even Mom and Dad agree. 149 Second Street.
Blowfish Sushi To Die For
Stylish sushi restaurant with electronic music and a young crowd. The food is good, but honestly a bit expensive for what it is. 2170 Bryant Street.
Maki
Expensive but absolutely amazing sushi. Awarded best sushi restaurant in 2005. Small, reserve in advance. 1825 Post Street, in the Japan Center.
Country Station Sushi
A completely inappropriate name for a Japanese restaurant. On the corner of Mission and 17th, a completely inappropriate location for a Japanese restaurant. From the outside, it seems as though you wouldn't want to to eat raw fish inside, but it's the best sushi in town! Amazing, amazing, amazing! Homey, with real Japanese employees who cry, "sumimasen," as you enter, look good, and have fun. Fair prices. I'm convinced. 2140 Mission Street.
Sparky's Diner
American diner, but pretty cool. Open 24 hours. 242 Church Street.
